Christmas Magic

This Christmas felt like the first Holiday of Elliot's life that didn't seem to be overshadowed by his health. We've had a much needed break from appointments, and by some miracle he's not sick despite the increase in respiratory illnesses seen in KY recently.

Jack and I made a point to discuss Elliot's upcoming appointments and planning who goes with him and what are concerns are at this time. Starting the last week of January we have a busy few weeks with appointments. Five appointments in less than four weeks.

January 22nd is his annual appointment with the vascular anomalies clinic- this is his big yearly appointment where his entire team of doctors meet with us to discuss Elliot's health concerns.

January 24th he will have his follow up spinal MRI and will finally be having a full airway scope. We will follow up with his neurosurgeon to discuss the results of the MRI the following week.

February holds our quarterly oncology visit and scans as well as our bi-annual orthopedic appointment.

Jack and I have noticed that as Elliot has grown and become more mobile, he is compensating more for his right leg while walking. Our suspicions of increased leg length discrepancy was confirmed at Elliot's most recent well visit. His previous measurement of about 1 cm difference between left and right leg is now about 1.25 inches. Hopefully we will get a more accurate measurement when he does his x-ray in February with ortho. We plan to address this with his ortho doctor and request information on where we can get shoe lifts to help even out Elliot's gait.

Back to Christmas!

Elliot had an absolute blast on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Creating the magic of the holiday for him was so much fun and I'm already excited about how it'll be next year when he's even more aware of what's going on. The best gift I received this year was Elliot starting to talk more, and my current favorite word he says is "CHEESE!" when he's taking a picture. He got a Bluey camera from my brother this year and has been going around "taking pictures" and saying CHEESE, over and over.

Christmas Eve night, SANTA CAME!
