The last couple of months have been been a weird combination of busy but also slow. We've been busy with the holidays, just like the rest of the world. But we've slowed our pace of doctor's appointments, and honestly I feel like its been a breath of fresh air.
Actually, I feel like I'm coming up out of the water from drowning and finally breathing air again. We've got a busy few weeks starting the end of this month for appointments. So for the next two weeks I'm planning to focus on self care and keeping life at a slower pace. Mother nature plans to help me out with this- she decided we are getting snow today and a lot of it for Kentucky standards.
If you're in the midst of running your kid back and forth to appointments right now. Hear this: you have permission to fill your cup first. Find what makes your day better whether that's socializing, exercising, eating healthy, binge watching your favorite show, or cuddling up reading a book and do it! These tiny humans deserve us at our best, so even when we feel like there's no time for it- it's important to make the time if you can. Ask a friend of family member for help if you need.
We are social creatures and meant to live in communities, we all need and deserve a village. If you're struggling to find yours, join a support group, start a book club, check out free activities at your public library--- and put yourself out there. Friendships take work, they don't just materialize in adulthood like they do when we are children.
